The Heart Chakra is related to the thymus, located in the chest and portrayed by the color green. This color is said to promote overall well-being, inner harmony and assist with relaxation of thought and muscles. It is also known as the center of love and self-love.

Green brings peace. It represents nature, growth, freshness, balance, environment, and money. It also supports a strong emotional connection with safety, helps with relieving tension, can lower blood pressure, and helps with chest constriction and cell restoration.

According to the principles of chromotherapy, the color green acts as a balancing force and reflects nature. Green is also a color of compassion, equilibrium, acceptance, and assists with finding balance in relationship with one’s Self.

Therapeutically, the Heart Chakra is related to both the heart and the thymus. Green can assist with heart issues, fatigue, breathing difficulty, insomnia, anger, cancer, paranoia, tension, immune issues, releasing negativity, and healing on all seven levels. With green being a soothing color, it has been reported that people tend to lose any aggressive and/or anxious traits when exposed to this color.

AbstractChromotherapy is a method of treatment that uses wavelengths in the visible region for curing different diseases and medical conditions. Recent advances in photobiology and the speciality of Photobiomodulation are uncovering the cellular and molecular effects of visible range electromagnetic radiation. We discuss the reported effects of visible range radiation on cells (in vitro and in vivo) and the attempted explanations of the underlying processes with regard to therapeutic effects. Some of the important advances in this area are reviewed, especially the effects of visible light on bacteria, enzymes and the use of visible light for wound healing and treatment of psychiatric diseases for the purpose of explaining the therapeutic implications of chromotherapy. We highlight the correlation of wavelengths used between recently uncovered mechanisms of photobiology and conventional chromotherapy. The elucidation of mechanisms of the cellular and molecular interaction of light will help in deciphering the scientific background of chromotherapy and will help in the application of this alternative therapeutic treatment to many other diseases.
